Cassard Presents Insightful Piano Masterclass on French Repertoire

French pianist and recent World of the Piano guest artist Phillipe Cassard presented an insightful and invigorating masterclass for Shenandoah Conservatory students, giving them the opportunity explore French repertoire with a world-class authority on its interpretation and performance on Monday, March 4. Masterclass participants included Mathilde Handelsman ’20 (Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance, Piano), Hidemi Minagawa ’22 (Artist Diploma, Piano) and Aaron Chow ’22 (Artist Diploma, Piano). Cassard’s exhilarating visit culminated with a stunning solo recital performance of Schubert and Debussy.
