O’Conor Records, Performs and Teaches Throughout Summer

During the month of June, Distinguished Artist-in-Residence; Chair of Keyboard Division and Professor of Piano John O’Conor, Mus.D., recorded a new CD of five Haydn piano sonatas for the Steinway label at Steinway’s showroom in New York City. He also presented a number of recitals in Ireland and presented the annual Beethoven Bootcamp course at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. He also led his annual piano masterclasses at the Adamant Summer Music Camp in Vermont and performed in the opening recital at the Vlassenko Piano Festival in Brisbane, Australia.

In July, O’Conor served as the jury chair at the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition in Brisbane, Australia. He also presented masterclasses at the Orford Summer Music Festival in Canada and the Tel Hai Music Festival in Israel.
