Master’s Thesis by Echard ’18 Published in Music Therapy Perspectives

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Therapy Allison Echard ’18, M.M., submitted her master’s thesis for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Music Therapy Perspectives. The article, “Making Sense of Self: An Autoethnographic Study of Identity Formation for Adolescents in Music Therapy,” is a qualitative study that explores how adolescents with developmental differences form identities and music therapy’s role in this process (including her role as the music therapist). Echard used three case studies from her clinical work to tell the story of this unfolding research project.
