Legendary cinema critic/film historian Leonard Maltin visited Shenandoah Conservatory on Tuesday, Nov. 18. During his time on campus, Maltin attended a directing class and met with students in the film department. His time at Shenandoah was made possible by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Promotions Director Andy Gyurisin; Visiting Associate Professor of Theatre Martha Wollner, M.A.; Adjunct Instructor of Theatre Kit Wilder, B.A.; Director-in-Residence Blayne Weaver; Distinguished Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Production & Recording Technology Paul DiFranco; and Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCIL) Operations Manager Joanne Ruscella. Maltin was in town to appear for two days at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Winchester to celebrate the organization’s 10-year anniversary in the Shenandoah Valley. The Alamo events included a side-by-side conversation with Maltin and his daughter Jessie.
