Commissioned Work for Bowden and Fung Debuts March 2020

Assistant Professor of Trumpet Mary Elizabeth Bowden, M.A., and Canadian composer Vivian Fung received support from a New Music USA grant to commission Fung to write a concerto for Bowden scheduled to premiere March 7, 2020 in Erie, Pennsylvania, under conductor Daniel Meyer. Co-commissioning consortium organizations include the Erie Philharmonic (lead orchestra in the consortium and recipient of a New Music USA grant for this work), Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, San José Chamber Orchestra, Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, Sante Fe Symphony Orchestra, San Diego State University’s School of Music & Dance, Shenandoah Conservatory and Waynesboro Symphony.
