Costume Designers Embark on GEL Trip to New York

Theatre Fellow in Costume Design Sammi Geppert, M.F.A., and Theatre Design & Production Program Coordinator, Costume Designer and Associate Professor of Costume Design Jennifer Adams, M.F.A., led a Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trip to New York in January for nine students, including six costume design majors, plus one acting major, one stage management major and one lighting design major. Highlights included “Beetlejuice” on Broadway and a backstage tour with the show’s stage managers; visits to three professional costume shops including Parsons-Meares; trips to fabric and trim stores in the Garment District; and the opportunity to explore fashion exhibits at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the fashion museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
