MPRT Students Visit ATR Services

Music production & recording technology (MPRT) students visited ATR Services in York, Pennsylvania on Friday, Feb. 21. They participated in an analog tape calibration seminar given by Dan Labrie. The seminar touched on magnetic tape manufacturing and tape machine calibration. ATR Magnetics and Services is one of the only analog tape manufacturers in the United States. Students learned, hands-on, how to calibrate an analog tape machine and also about the maintenance required to maintain a tape machine. Analog tape is still used in the audio industry solely for its unique sound.
