Grant ’21 and Lemieux ’21 Cast in Broadway-aimed Musical Version of ‘The Outsiders’

Brody Grant ’21 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre) and Kiki Lemieux ’21 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre) were cast in lead roles for the upcoming Broadway-aimed musical version of “The Outsiders.” Grant will play Sodapop and Lemieux will play Marcia. The world premiere of this adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s novel will take place at La Jolla Playhouse in spring of 2023.

“The Outsiders” features a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp (“The Sound Inside”), music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance) and Tony Award winner Justin Levine (“Moulin Rouge! The Musical”), who will also provide music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. Danya Taymor (“Pass Over”) will direct the musical.
