Escalona ’26 Selected to Premiere Choral Work at 2022 VMEA Conference

Maximiliano Fernández Escalona ’26 (Bachelor of Music in Music Education) was selected to premiere his piece “What Would I Give?” as part of the Composition Festival at the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) 2022 Professional Development Conference. The performance was his collegiate conducting debut and the piece was performed with fellow music education students Sarah Gorman ’23, Riley Taylor ’25, Elizabeth Roche ’25, Violet Neikirk ’24, Brielle Windle ’25, Greylynn Waite ’26, Freddy Batiz-Garcia ’26, Ethan Smith ’23 and Logan Casto ’25.
