Newman Commissioned to Write Clarinet Duo

Director of Composition, Coordinator of New Music and Associate Professor of Composition Jonathan Newman, M.M., was commissioned by Anna Lee van Buren Endowed Chair in Clarinet, Coordinator of Winds and Percussion and Professor of Clarinet Garrick Zoeter, M.M., and Jacob Moyer ’17, ’23 (Bachelor of Music in Performance, Master of Music in Performance) to write “Knowledge Workers,” a clarinet duo for their concert at the International Clarinet Association’s annual convention Clarinetfest 2023. It will premiere this July in Denver, Colorado.
