Conservatory Students in SU Marching Band and Studio Big Band Invited to Perform in London’s New Year’s Day Parade 2025

The Shenandoah University Marching Band, which made its debut last fall, will perform on an international stage when it participates in London’s New Year’s Day Parade in 2025 alongside SU cheerleaders and the Shenandoah Conservatory Studio Big Band. Sixty-five percent of the marching band is composed of conservatory students, with 82 out of its 125 members enrolled. The Marching Band is directed by Director of Athletic Bands, Senior Coordinator of Conservatory Recruitment and Adjunct Instructor of Conducting Shaun Evans, D.M.A. The Studio Big Band features approximately 20 students and is directed by Director of Jazz & Commercial Music and Associate Professor of Trombone Matthew Niess, D.M.A. Visit su.edu to learn more about the invitation and its surprise announcement.
