Baldwin ’22 Presents New Art Song Concert in Miami

Julian Baldwin ’22 (Bachelor of Music in Performance) will present “Real Things People Say,” a new art song concert at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami on Jan. 26, at the Chapel for the Venerable Bede in Coral Gables, Florida. The concert features four new pieces by composers at the Society of Composers, Incorporated (SCI), including Edward Shilts ’21 (Master of Music in Composition) who is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at the school. The texts for the pieces are sourced from various corners of the Internet and skew on the comedic side. The concert also includes a performance of “Craigslistlieder” by Gabriel Kahane. Audrey Puschinsky is the featured collaborative pianist for the concert and is a master’s student at the school as well as a new music specialist like Baldwin.
