On May 3, J. Robert Spencer (C ’91) performed in the Golden Belt Community Concert Association’s concert at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium in Great Bend, Kansas.

On April 29, Kendra DeOms (B ’94) was highlighted in an article celebrating 20 years as a franchise owner of the Chick-fil-A in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Kimberly Poole (AS ’99) received the 2024 Teacher of the Year award from the Loudoun County Education Foundation.

Christopher Sexton and Nothin' FancyChris Sexton (C ’00, ’10) and the other members of the bluegrass band Nothin’ Fancy were recently honored by the Virginia General Assembly, which passed a resolution to commend the ensemble on its 30 years of business and being cultural ambassadors representing Virginia’s rich musical heritage. On April 20, Jenene Caramielo (C’03) performed a tribute to Celine Dion entitled, “Celebrating Celine,” at the Circle Square Cultural Center in Ocala, Florida.

On April 26, Bart Stewart (HP ’03) was highlighted in the “Handley Notables” section of the Winchester Star.

Joseph Henry Luckinbill (C ’07) was highlighted in an article entitled, “All About Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s Children and Grandchildren.”

In April, Benjamin Luczak (C ’09, ’15) became the CEO of Westmoreland Cultural Trust in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Marilee Pittman Clemons (AS ’12, P ’16) was a 2024 recipient of the Ohio Pharmacists Association’s (OPA) Under 40 Award, which was presented at the OPA 146th Annual Conference in April. She was also installed as a Board of Trustees member for OPA’s District 2 at the conference.

MG Rivas BergerMG Rivas Berger’s (C ’13, C ’16, C ’22) research study “The Impact of a Single Music Therapy Session on Pain Perception of Patients with Sickle Cell Disease,” was published in Music and Medicine. Music and Medicine is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal that covers research on the intersection of music and medicine. (Pictured to the left.)

Derek B. Ritenour (E ’17) was named the principal of Luray Middle School in Luray, Virginia.

In April, Angela Galestro (C ’20) directed the Gulf Coast Flute Choir’s “Twilight on the Gulf” performance by Paul Cuevas in Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton, Florida.

On May 17, Alicia Cain Wheeling (E ’20) was highlighted in the “Handley Notables” section of the Winchester Star.

In April, Jenna Barricklo (C ’21) performed as Skye in “PAW Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure” at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York.

Brody Grant (C ’21) has been nominated for a Tony Award in the category of Best Performance By An Actor In a Leading Role In a Musical for his performance as Ponyboy Curtis in “The Outsiders.”

Brett Orenstein (C ’21) toured with Mark Morris Dance Group, Best Ex and Young Rising Sons as an audio supervisor and front-of-house engineer. He also worked on an Off-Broadway show and in various theaters and was accepted into Berklee School of Music’s master’s program for live music production and design.

On May 17, Edward Cho (C ’23) performed in the Bistro Concert Series at the Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury retirement community in Winchester, Virginia.

In January, Aubrey Kingsbury (B ’23), a goalkeeper for the Washington Spirit, interned as a baker with Village Sweet Bakery in Arlington, Virginia

Azaria Rubio (C ’23) worked as a design member candidate for costume designer Paul Tazewell (Broadway credits include “Hamilton” and “MJ: The Musical;” film credits include” West Side Story” and “Wicked”) on the new Broadway musical “Suffs.”
