Orchestral Work by Crowhurst ’13 Premiered by Munich Radio Orchestra

Julian Crowhurst’s ’13 (Bachelor of Music in Composition) “Perennial Order: Suite for Orchestra” will be premiered by the Münchner Rundfunkorchester (Munich Radio Orchestra) as part of the Let’s Play! Video Game Music in Concert program on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Prince Regent Theater in Munich, Germany. The piece will be conducted by J. Aaron Hardwick ’21, ’22 (Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting, Graduate Certificate in Esports Management), who is leading the Münchner Rundfunkorchester (Munich Radio Orchestra) in the pioneering concert.

Crowhurst’s work is a suite of various themes from “Perennial Order” and is arranged for a full orchestra of approximately 62 musicians. The concert includes all video game music written for orchestra and features works by Jason Graves, Inon Zur and more.

“To have my music premiered by this renowned orchestra at such a beautiful, historic venue is a real ‘pinch me’ moment,” said Crowhurst. “Huge thanks to Evan Kassof and Chelsea Meynig for helping me edit the score, thanks to my team Gardenfiend Games, and to all my family and friends who supported me along the way.”

The concert will be broadcast on German national radio and possibly live streamed on Twitch.
