Refreshing Assessment: An Announcement From Institutional Research And Assessment

Looking for ways to implement best practices in assessment? The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment is taking additional steps to communicate available resources to faculty and staff that will help to improve programs and services for students.

The goal is to bring together various voices to begin looking at ways to incorporate assessment into everyday activities. Each Friday throughout April and May, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment will share information in the SUN-e that will highlight best practices in assessment in academic and nonacademic settings. Training opportunities available through the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment will be shared through administrators, deans and directors.

The office looks forward to sharing methods for gathering and analyzing data in order to identify actionable insights that will ultimately support student learning and the SU community. It’ll also share current strategies from organizations such as Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE), Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), and National Institute for Learning Outcomes in Assessment (NILOA).

For more information about assessment resources and training opportunities, contact Terri Masiello at tmasiell@su.edu. To learn more about the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, visit su.edu.
