The Shenandoah University Buzzin’ Dozen Pep Band as we know it today was formed in 2008. Its first student director, Eric Price, began building the program using somewhat limited resources. His extraordinary dedication meant the program grew rapidly through 2008-09. Now, the band has grown to almost 3 times the size.
The Shenandoah University Buzzin’ Dozen Pep Band is a unique organization, with an ability to motivate and inspire the student body. Our goal is to foster a spirit of community and family within the band, the university, and the surrounding community. The Pep Band is responsible for supporting events both on and off campus in a fun, motivating, and peppy way.
The pep band received very positive reviews for their numerous performances including those at the ODAC announcement ceremony, the Shenandoah University logo roll-out ceremony, the Wilkins Athletics and Events Center Gala, and as an auxiliary unit of the Shenandoah University float in the Apple Blossom Festival Grand Feature Parade. The band and its leaders are obligated to protect the image and reputation by performing at a high caliber at all times.
2018 marked the 10-year anniversary of the Buzzin’ Dozen Pep Band.
The Band is led by its seventh Director, Ethan Bodsford, Associate Director, Avery Apgar, and Assistant Director, Barbara Hensley. For more information or to book the Pep Band for your event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
