SU Scholar Series: John O’Conor and Darrin Hunt
November 12 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
SU Libraries and the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (TTL) host the SU Scholar Series on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 4-5 p.m. on the first floor of Smith Library. This event celebrates faculty scholarship through presentations by John O’Conor, Ph.D., Mus.D., D.Mus., D.M.A., professor of piano, and Darrin Hunt, Ph.D., assistant professor of environment and sustainability. O’Conor will discuss his sabbatical project, The Beethoven Piano Sonatas and Concertos, in preparation for the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in 2027. Hunt will present collaborative research on green stormwater infrastructure and groundwater monitoring involving community groups and citizen scientists, which resulted in his 2025 publication on interdisciplinary action research. Each speaker will present for 15-20 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. Attendees are invited to stay afterward for conversation and light refreshments. Now in its third year, the SU Scholar Series highlights faculty sabbatical projects, recent publications, TTL Fellow work and other scholarly projects. Register online.
