The Center for Civic Engagement and the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s Public Policy Committee are seeking student volunteers to assist with two nonpartisan candidate forums featuring candidates for Winchester City Council and the Frederick County Board of Supervisors. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday, Oct. 5, and Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Hazel-Pruitt Armory, Collaboratory. Volunteers will assist with check-in, candidate support and other event tasks. Volunteers are welcome to stay for the candidate forums from 6:30-8 p.m. to hear from the candidates. The Office of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity hosts its Fall 2026 Kickback on Monday, Oct. 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in The Village Common Room and on The Village lawn. Students can enjoy free food and drinks, including hamburgers and hot dogs, while connecting with new friends, peer mentors and student leaders. Catholic Campus Ministry will offer Eucharistic Adoration from 6:15-7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays throughout the semester, providing an opportunity for quiet prayer and worship.
