- TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support.
- Scheduled Counseling: Select the day, time, and mental health provider of their choice.
- Health Coaching: Support for developing healthy behaviors.
- Psychiatry: Appointments are available through referrals.
- CrisisNow: 24/7, phone-based mental health support when facing urgent emotional challenges. There’s no sign-up and no wait; just call 540-546-4914 to connect with a trained counselor in just a few seconds.
- Self-Care Content: 24/7 access to self-care tools and resources, such as meditation and yoga sessions, helpful videos, and short articles from experts.
- Peer Community: An anonymous and judgment-free space where students can connect with, react to, and support other students going through similar situations.

TimelyCare is available to all enrolled full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students at Shenandoah University.
TimelyCare is free for all matriculating students who are enrolled in degree-seeking programs.

There are no wrong options! The Counseling Center and TimelyCare are both equipped to meet a variety of mental and emotional needs. TimelyCare offers evening and weekend appointments, which would be a good option when the Counseling Center is not open. You can also access TimelyCare wherever you are – so if you are an online student, in another state for clinicals, or visiting home, TimelyCare is an option!
All TimelyCare services are provided remotely via phone or video.
In-person appointments are offered during business hours Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 540-665-4530 or email counseling@su.edu to schedule an appointment.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency during office hours, contact the Wellness Center at (540) 665-4530. In the event of an emergency after office hours, contact the Department of Campus Safety at (540) 678-4444.
TimelyCare is 100% confidential. As part of your agreement to the Terms of Service when you register your account, your records will be shared with licensed medical providers and therapists at SU. If you want to share your records with a physician outside of TimelyCare, you can print or email your records, or call 833.4.TIMELY to send a copy of your records to your provider.
