The SU Young Scholars Literary Symposium is a one-day academic and creative expression conference held on SU’s Winchester campus that brings together outstanding high school and undergraduate students from the region in order to share their academic and creative work related to the symposium’s annual theme.

Gothic Grimoires

he inaugural symposium theme, Gothic Grimoires, is inspired by the 125th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Amanda Firestone
Keynote Speaker
Amanda Firestone is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Tampa.
Broadly, she teaches classes in Media Literacy and Film Studies, helping students prepare for critical engagement in a highly mediated world. Her research interests are vested in Young Adult Media, specifically large global franchises like Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga. She has been the Children’s and Young Adult Literature Division Head for the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts since 2018. Amanda enjoys baking, knitting, gardening, and running.
