Alex Forman – Luncheon Speaker
Alex Foreman (also known online as A. Z. Foreman) is a doctoral student at the Ohio State University. His scholarly interest centers around forms of “intentionally unusual” language, including poetic dialects, scriptural reading traditions and theatrical speech. Of particular interest to him are the ways in which such forms of unusual language change over time. His areas of curiosity include Arabic linguistic history, the performance of medieval lyric verse, and Early Modern English phonology.
Rich Follett – Reception Speaker
Rich Follett is a former high school and current middle school theatre arts teacher who has consistently focused on the relevance of Shakespeare performance and study for young actors and scholars throughout his 27-year career, both in the classroom and as an instructor and/or presenter for enrichment programs such as PAVAN, the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy, and The Virginia Commission for the Arts-sponsored programs. Rich has written poems and songs for more than fifty years. He is proud to serve as the official poet laureate for Strasburg, Virginia –the first state poet to serve in such as role. Rich’s poetry has been featured in numerous online and print journals, including BlazeVox, the Montucky Review, the Willows Wept Review (Pushcart nominee), and the late Felino Soriano’s CounterExample Poetics, for which he was a featured artist. Rich has authored Responsorials (2009, with Constance Stadler), Silence, Inhabited (2011), and Human &c. (2013) through NeoPoesis Press, and Photo-Ku (2016) through NightWing Publications. He is featured in the ODU Virginia Poets Database at Virginia Poets Database | Old Dominion University. Information and publications at www.richfollett.com
