Santa Girl Stars and Crew Featured On NPR Outlet

“Santa Girl” has drawn attention from NPR outlet, WMRA.

WMRA’s Christopher Clymer Kurtz recently interviewed film stars Barry Bostwick, who plays Santa, as well as Jennifer Stone, who portrays Cassie, Santa’s daughter in this holiday fantasy being filmed on Shenandoah’s campus and in other locations in the city of Winchester, Virginia, through a co-production deal between Shenandoah and Capital Arts Entertainment.

In the interviews, the film’s director, Blayne Weaver, describes the film as a “cross between the movie ‘Elf,’ and an episode of ‘Gilmore Girls.’

Bostwick and Stone also talk about what it’s like to work with students in the interview, as well as more from Shenandoah faculty and students, all of which is streaming on WMRA’s website.

Kurtz also conducted a separate interview with Bostwick and Stone, in which Bostwick reveals his existing Shenandoah Valley connection (he portrayed George Washington in a 1980s miniseries and television movie about the first U.S. president), offers advice to acting students and talks about his role as Santa. Stone also notes a Virginia connection (she says her boyfriend isn’t from too far away from the Winchester area), and talks about what she values as an actor and a bit about her own college days (she wasn’t an acting major!)

Find out what her college major was/is and much more by listening to the interview!
