Chen Partners to Present on Body and Voice at VASTA/PAVA 2018 Joint Conference

Through the competitive adjudication process, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Professor of Dance Ting-Yu Chen, M.F.A., will present “Body & Voice: A Collaborative Approach for Addressing Voice Issues” at the VASTA/PAVA 2018 Joint Conference in Seattle, Washington, this August. As the primary presenter, Chen will be joined by Auxiliary Adjunct Associate Professor of Voice and Co-Founder of the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute Edrie Means Weekly, M.M., and Shenandoah Conservatory D.M.A. candidate Kathleen Bell ’20 as co-presenters.The conference planning team acknowledges the interdisciplinary elements of Chen’s proposal and its thoughtfulness in fitting with the conference theme this year, “Soma & Science: Bridging the Gap in Interdisciplinary Voice Training.” Bell is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in pedagogy with Director of Graduate Vocal Pedagogy Programs, Director of CCM Institute and Professor of Voice (Contralto) Kathryn Green, D.M.A.
