'Santa Girl' picked up for distribution, new religion class offered, applied tech director does Q&A with publication
Gravitas Ventures has picked up the distribution rights to “Santa Girl,” the holiday film co-produced by Shenandoah University and Capital Arts Entertainment and starring Jennifer Stone, Barry Bostwick and Devon Werkheiser. Approximately 70 Shenandoah students worked on the film, which gets a release in theaters and on demand on Aug. 30.

The 17th International Willa Cather Seminar “Unsettling Cather: Differences and Dislocations,” was held at Shenandoah for a week in June. Seminar activities included on-campus sessions, day trips to Willa Cather’s childhood home in Back Creek and Washington, D.C., and more.
Assistant Professor of Religion Kevin Minister, Ph.D., is offering a new, fully online, 3-credit upper-level religion course in the fall 2019 semester. Students will meet with Dr. Minister for the”Religion and Film” course from 5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. on Tuesdays via Zoom.
Several Exercise Science students have taken the initiative to create a new student club on campus called the Exercise and Health Professions Club (EHPC). It is open to all majors. The EHPC’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity among the campus and community through special events, community service, and other various activities.
