O’Neill ’92 Tours Solid State Logic Facility in England and Celebrates Continued Partnership

In May, Director and Associate Professor of Music Production & Recording Technology (MPRT) Golder O’Neill ’92, M.M.E., visited the headquarters and factory of Solid State Logic (SSL) in Oxford, England, where he met with Director of New Products Niall Feldman and Alex Gidman. O’Neill toured the facilities and was given the opportunity to see the studios and assembly plant where SSL products are manufactured. Shenandoah University currently owns the SSL Duality console and several other SSL products that are vital to the education of students in the MPRT program. When Ruebush Recording Studios opened in 1998, Shenandoah collaborated with SSL to install an SL4000G series console. In 2008, the university upgraded to the SSL Duality, which is the flagship analog mixing console and control surface for Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software that SSL produces. Shenandoah has enjoyed this 20+ year relationship with SSL, one of the leading companies in the audio industry today.
