Shores ’99 and Naumenko with Conspirare Nominated for 2020 Grammy Awards

Two Shenandoah Conservatory faculty are on the list of 2020 Grammy Award nominees announced on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Production & Recording Technology Dan Shores ’99, B.M., received his fifth Grammy Award nomination for his work on the album “AEQUA” which features music by Icelandic composer Anna S. Þorvaldsdóttir as performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble, in the category of Best Engineered Album, Classical. Shores served as the engineer and mastering engineer for the album.

The latest Conspirare album, “The Hope of Loving,” featuring Assistant Professor of Voice Fotina Naumenko, D.M.A., was nominated for Best Choral Performance, Classical. It was recorded in January and debuted at number 5 on the Traditional Classical Albums Billboard Chart when it was released in August.

Naumenko was also a soloist on the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble’s album “Canticle,” which was included in producer Blanton Alspaugh’s nomination for Producer of the Year, Classical.
