In Memoriam

Betsey Weston Blauvelt (C ’67) passed away on Dec, 25, 2020. She was a private piano teacher for more than 20 years and was the musical director for the Front Royal United Methodist Church in Front Royal, Virginia, for more than 40 years. She was active in the Warren County Little Theatre and the Wayside Theatre. She was the co-founder of the Blue Ridge Arts Council, served on the Warren County School Board, was the president of the Virginia School Board Association and the Front Royal Rotary Club. She is survived by her husband, David Blauvelt (C ’68), her children, her brother and her grandchildren.

Clifford Leon Clark (C ’72) passed away on Jan. 1, 2021. Clifford was a violinist with the Savannah Symphony, Hilton Head Orchestra and Savannah Philharmonic. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Johnston Clark (C ’72), his sons and daughter and his grandchildren.

Patricia Kuzmick Pierce (C ’96) passed away on Dec. 31, 2020. Patty was the chorale director at Chopticon High School in Maryland for 30 years and she created and conducted the St. Marie’s Musica Choral Group and was the musical director for the Trinity Episcopal Church in Saint Mary’s City. Patty sang with The Washington Chorus for many years. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and sisters.

Doni Villavaso (HP ’99) passed away on Dec. 27, 2020. She was a certified hand therapist, employed by Ochsner. She was also the former owner of Hand Therapy Experts in Santa Monica, California. She is survived by her mother, her half brothers, her “little sister” and her dogs.

Timothy S. Smith (P ’01) passed away on Dec. 22, 2020. Timothy worked in several pharmacies and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his partner, his brother, three nephews and extended family.

Kimberly Erickson (B ’07), of Bluemont, Virginia, passed away on Dec. 12, 2020. Kim was an elementary school teacher with Clarke County Public Schools and she is survived by her husband, mother, two children and her sister.
