Stepniak Appointed President-Elect of College Music Society Board of Directors

Shenandoah Conservatory Dean and Professor of Music Michael Stepniak, Ed.D., was elected president-elect by the 2021 College Music Society’s board of directors. He will serve as president-elect in 2022, president in 2023 to 2024 and past-president in 2025. Stepniak joins arts leaders from other colleges and universities including McLennan Community College; Temple University; The Juilliard School; California State University, Stanislaus and Western Illinois University.

As the leading consortium of college, conservatory, university, and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music, the College Music Society provides leadership and serves as an agent of change by addressing concerns facing music in higher education.
