Destress for Success Week

Winter break is quickly approaching and so is finals week, which runs from Monday, Dec. 13, through Saturday, Dec. 18. 

It’s time for Destress for Success Week! 

Check out the events SU has planned to relieve some stress during exams! All week long, there will be a relaxation room in Cooley to provide quiet time for students. A massage therapist is scheduled to be on campus Tuesday, Dec. 14, and Wednesday, Dec. 15, from noon to 2 p.m. Take a study break to ease your stress with some puppy love and visit the therapy dogs on Tuesday, Dec. 14. 

SU is also hosting a late night breakfast, hot cocoa bar, and a board game night. Take these opportunities to destress and be refreshed for your finals this semester! Questions? Contact studentlife@su.edu.

Relaxation Room – Destress for Success Week

Monday, Dec. 13 – Friday, Dec. 17 | Cooley Hall, Room 302

Need some quiet time or a space to close your eyes and relax? Enjoy the relaxation room that the Counseling Center has to offer in Cooley Hall, Room 302. Commuter Refuel Station – Destress for Success Week

Monday, Dec. 13 – Friday, Dec. 17 | Brandt Student Center, Room 108

Don’t live on campus and need a snack to get you through the day? Visit Brandt Student Center, Room 108, for free snacks available just for commuter students during finals week. For more information, contact Myles Hairston at mhairsto10@su.edu.

Late Night Breakfast – Destress for Success Week

Monday, Dec. 13 | 9 – 11 p.m. | Allen Dining Hall

Enjoy a delicious breakfast spread served to you by Shenandoah’s faculty and staff the night before finals! Whether you come alone or bring all of your friends, good vibes, free food and a DJ will be waiting to get you pumped for finals week. Therapy Dogs – Destress for Success Week

Tuesday, Dec. 14 | 1 – 3 p.m. | BSC, front patio

Hot Cocoa Bar and Board Games – Destress for Success Week

Tuesday, Dec. 14 | 6:30-8:30 p.m. | BSC, Game Room

Take a break from the stress of finals and warm up with hot cocoa and low-stakes competition! The Campus Activities Network (CAN) is hosting a hot cocoa bar and board game night on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the BSC’s Game Room. There will be a build-your-own hot chocolate station and holiday cookies to enjoy, as well as old and new board games to play! Contact can@su.edu with any questions.
