Mark ’23 and McMichen ’25 Awarded AAUW’s Betty and Edwin Orndoff Scholarship for the Performing Arts

Zoe Mark ’23 (Master of Music in Performance – Trumpet) and Sarah McMichen ’25 (Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance – Woodwind Doubling) were awarded the Betty and Edwin Orndoff Scholarship for the Performing Arts sponsored by the Winchester Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The selection committee was impressed with the exceptional levels of musicianship, ambition and talent that all the applicants exhibited.

“Betty and Edwin truly loved the visual and performing arts,” said Edwina Orndoff, Betty and Edwin’s daughter. “They rarely missed a concert, theatre production, dance recital or exhibition opening in the community or at Shenandoah University, so how appropriate a memorial scholarship was established for a performing arts student.”
