Salley Presents Research on Scriabin at Music Theory Midwest Annual Meeting

Coordinator of Music Theory and Associate Professor of Music Theory Keith Salley, Ph.D., will present “Functional Conflation and Referentiality in Scriabin’s Early Works” at the annual meeting of the Music Theory Midwest (the regional society of the Society for Music Theory) at the University of Kansas during the weekend of Friday, May 6, through Sunday, May 8. Scholarship on Alexander Scriabin has trended recently, as the year 2022 marks the composer’s sesquicentenary. Dr. Salley’s presentation in Kansas will enable him to share his ideas at the largest regional music theory society in the United States in preparation for his participation in the Scriabin@150 conference later this year in Reading, UK.
