Multiplatinum Producer and Recording/Mixing Engineer Sean Russell Speaks with MPRT Students

Multiplatinum producer and recording/mixing engineer Sean Russell met with two music production and recording technology classes led by Assistant Professor of Music Production & Recording Technology Graham Spice, M.S., on Wednesday, March 23. Russell has worked with Damien and Stephen Marley, Bruno Mars, India.Arie, Allison Krauss, Don Was, KIX, ODESZA, the Pietasters, John Medeski, Warren Haynes and many others. He also does sound for film and location recording, and is the D.C. recordist with The Moth Radio Hour.

“It was great to have Sean Russell come and speak to our classes,” said Spice. “His knowledge and experience have deepened our students’ understanding of how the industry works and what they can do to help prepare them to work in the music business. Sean even shared some recording sessions that he and I have worked on together! We look forward to having Sean return to campus next year to share more of his recording production tips and tricks.”
