John O’Conor – 2022 Spring and Summer Updates

Distinguished Artist-in-Residence, Chair of Keyboard Division and Professor of Piano John O’Conor, Mus.D., performed Beethoven’s “Emperor Concerto” with the Madison Chamber Orchestra as conducted by Andrew Sewell (Friday, April 22) and presented a solo Beethoven recital in Madison, Wisconsin (Saturday, April 23). He also presented a solo Beethoven recital at the Limerick University Concert Hall in Ireland (Sunday, May 8).

Future engagements include chairing the jury of the Dublin International Piano Competition (Tuesday, May 17, through Tuesday, May 24); presenting a recital in Istanbul, Turkey (Tuesday, June 7, through Saturday, June 11); serving as a jury member of the New York International Piano Competition (Sunday, June 19, through Friday, June 24); leading masterclasses at the Adamant Summer School in Vermont (Saturday, June 25, through Sunday, July 3); and serving as a visiting professor at the Showa University of Music in Japan (Sunday, July 10 through Sunday, July 24). He will also present a masterclass and recital at the Aspen Music Festival and School in Colorado (Sunday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 14); perform in the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Ireland, with the RTE Concert Orchestra conducted by David Brophy performing the Beethoven Emperor Concerto and the Mozart Two Piano Concerto with Alexander Bernstein 16 (Aug. 19); participate in the Valentia Festival in Ireland (Saturday, Aug. 20 to Monday, Aug. 22); and present a solo Beethoven recital in Fermanagh, Ireland (Thursday, Sept. 1).
