Eight Shenandoah University School of Business sport management students got to practice fan/experience operations at an NFL preseason game at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday night, Aug. 27, as the Baltimore Ravens extended their record preseason winning streak to 23 games with a 17-15 victory over the Washington Commanders.

It’s great to get the chance to work in the sports and events industry as a student. Trips like these help us to learn about what it takes to put on an event, and it really puts the workload into perspective.”

Skyler Hill ’24, Sport Business Association Vice President, BBA/Concentration in Business Administration

The students worked on the Club Level of the stadium, armed with iPhone scanners to check fans’ tickets to ensure they were in the right section of the stadium.

This was a good opportunity for our sports management students. It provided them with valuable game-day fan/customer relationship interactions. In addition, they can add the experience to their resumes as they prepare to enter the sports industry workforce.”
