Coordinator of Music Literature and Associate Professor of Music History and Literature Laurie McManus, Ph.D., was invited to present a lecture on Brahms’s “German Requiem,” the German composer’s famous setting of the mass for the dead, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. The Riemenschneider Bach Institute’s rare score of the “Requiem,” with conducting markings in Brahms’ hand, was also on display.
