Performing Arts Medicine (PAM)

PAM 700 Performing Arts Terminology | 1 credit
July 1 – August 10

This course will help the health professional to gain an understanding of the terminology and basic performance approaches in dance, including ballet, modern dance, jazz and tap; and music performance (playing of specific instruments).

This course will introduce students to terminology of basic anatomical orientations, positions and motions related to performing artists.

This course will introduce students to the terminology of basic anatomical orientations, positions and motions related to esport athletes.

Public Health

PH 501 History and Philosophy of Public Health | 3 credits
May 30 – August 7

This course will provide students with foundational knowledge of public health’s historical contributions, ethical bases, key terms, concepts and organization. This course will examine public health through its historical context and will use this information in the evaluation of current health issues.

PH 505 Social and Behavioral Aspects of Public Health | 3 credits
May 30 – August 7

This course is a broad introduction to health promotion approaches in the social and behavioral sciences that can inform public health practice and research. It will examine public health from a multidisciplinary and population-oriented perspective with a focus on reducing preventable disease, reducing mortality and promoting health interventions.
