Niess Performs, Teaches and Adjudicates at Regional Jazz and Trombone Events

Director of Jazz Studies and Trombone Artist-in-Residence Matthew Niess, D.M.A., served as a guest artist and clinician with the Knoxville Youth Jazz Orchestra at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Feb. 16. Visit www.knoxtntoday.com to learn more.

He served as an adjudicator for the West Virginia Eastern Regional Jazz Festival at Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, on Feb. 25.

Niess was also a guest artist and clinician at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Feb. 28.

In addition, he was featured in a performance with The Capitol Bones at The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” American Trombone Workshop at Fort Myer, Virginia, on March 10.
