Celebrate with On-Campus Events at Shenandoah!

From April 28 to May 7, the Winchester area will buzz with excitement for the 96th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Shenandoah University will celebrate with plenty of on-campus events full of the Bloomin’ Blossom spirit! Some events include the Club Carnival, BBQ Picnic, and Blossom Bash. Take a look at all the activities Shenandoah has planned for Apple Blossom!

Bloomin’ Wine Fest Ticket Raffle (Graduate Students Only)

Saturday, April 29 | Downtown Winchester 

Enter for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the Bloomin’ Wine Fest on Saturday, April 29 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. via this Google Form. Two sets of tickets will be raffled off to those who enter this contest. Check-in at the event includes age verification via ID scanning. This contest closes on April 19 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be notified on April 20.

Doors in Bloom (Door Decorating Contest) 

Now-Thursday, April 27  

Ready to get in the Apple Blossom spirit?! Get out the pink & green and decorate the door of your room, office, cubicle wall, or even your door at home for our commuter students! Post your submission on Instagram using the hashtag #ShenUBlooms and tag @sustudentlife and @shenandoahreslife to enter the contest. Use #undergraduate, #graduate, or #facultystaff and the winner of each category will win a $50 gift card. Submissions close Wednesday, April 26. Winners will be announced Thursday, April 27. Live Outdoor Mario Kart Race & Costume Contest 

Friday, April 28 | 3-5 p.m. | Brandt Student Center Parking Lot 

Have you ever wanted to play Mario Kart in real life? The Dean of Students Office, Office of Residence Life, and Esports have a fun opportunity for you! On Friday, April 28, at 3 p.m. in the Brandt Student Center parking lot, join an IRL Mario Kart Race and fundraise for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Get ready to throw some banana peels and toss those turtle shells (water balloons), just like the game! The event includes heat races on Razor DXT Drift Trikes (that are provided), where participants compete for the fastest heat time while managing to escape obstacles. The event will also feature a Mario Kart character costume contest open to the campus community. Cash prizes are offered to the winners. Race participants are asked to donate $5 and spectators will be encouraged to give $1 donation at the door. Registrants who donate $25 can throw obstacles (space limited). Blossom CAN & Club Carnival

Tuesday, May 2 | 3-6 p.m. | Sarah’s Glen 

Come out to the Blossom CAN & Club Carnival on Tuesday, May 2, from 3-6 p.m. in Sarah’s Glen to tie-dye, play games, and so much more! This is a great opportunity to meet student organizations and get ready for Apple Blossom festivities. Apple Blossom T-shirts will be available to tie-dye and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at 3 p.m.,4 p.m., and 5 p.m. Questions? Contact CAN at can@su.edu

Bloomin’ BBQ Picnic

Wednesday, May 3 | 5-7 p.m. | Clement Patio outside Allen Dining Hall 

Join Shenandoah Outdoor and Adventure Recreation (SOAR) and Campus Recreation & Wellness for some BBQ favorites! In lieu of a meal in the Allen Dining Hall, Sodexo will host a BBQ picnic on Clement Patio. Bring a chair or blanket and stay awhile. Yard games and hammocks will also be available.

Alpha Psi Omega’s Lipsync

Thursday, May 4 | 9 p.m. | Bright Box (15 N Loudoun St., Winchester, VA 22601) 

Lipsync honors the memory of Ira Lindberg Harris. Ira was a Shenandoah musical theatre graduate who was taken from this world far too soon. His joy and heart is celebrated every year through this event and the Ira Lindberg Harris scholarship, which helps make the joy of an arts education possible through financial assistance to a Shenandoah Conservatory musical theatre student. Students across campus can sign up to participate as a drag king, queen, or monarch and the campus and local Winchester community are invited to celebrate with Alpha Psi Omega, cheering on these monarchs as they Lipsync for their LIFE on Thursday, May 4 at 9:30 p.m. at Bright Box (15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester, VA)! VIPs only from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; seating is from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Questions? Contact: alphapsiomega.shenandoah@gmail.com

Blossom Bash 

Friday, May 5 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. | Brandt Student Center Parking Lot

Kick off Apple Blossom weekend with Residence Life and the Office of Student Leadership & Development at the Blossom Bash in the Brandt Student Center parking lot! We are excited to bring DC’s Original HariKaraoke Band to this year’s event to host live band karaoke. Spiritual Life’s Midday Matinee

Join the Office of Spiritual Life and Campus Activities Network (CAN) for a special Apple Blossom screening of a movie of your choice!
