Coulson Attends and Organizes Session at International Congress on Medieval Studies

Assistant Dean for Student Learning and Professor of Theatre Carolyn Coulson, Ph.D., will attend the 58th International Congress on Medieval Studies from Thursday, May 11, to Saturday, May 13, at Western Michigan State University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The congress is an annual gathering of thousands of scholars interested in medieval studies and embraces the study of all aspects of the period, including history, language, literature, linguistics, art, archaeology, religion, science, medicine, music, drama, philosophy, gender, sexuality, mysticism and technology. Dr. Coulson has organized and will preside over a session on Reexamining the Audience(s) of Early Drama and Festive Performance, with speakers from UNC Chapel Hill, University of Liverpool and Purdue University. At the congress, Coulson will also preside over the annual business and executive council meetings of the Medieval and Renaissance Drama Society, of which she is president.
