Tucker ’22 Celebrates First Cruise Experience as Production Cast Dancer

Kristina Tucker ’22 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance) recently returned from her first contract with Celebrity Cruises as a production cast dancer and was promoted to a supervisor position as dance captain.

Throughout her six-month journey at sea, Tucker was able to experience life in the Caribbean, which included visits to cities/countries such as San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Barbados, Antigua, Aruba, Curacao, Cozumel, Costa Maya, St. Maarten, Tortola, St. Croix and Grenada.

While she was able to explore all of these amazing places, Tucker was included in three production shows as well as two “theme night” performances onboard every week. The production shows on the Celebrity Millennium were “Boogie Wonderland,” “Elysium” and “IBroadway,” each running approximately 50 minutes and performed twice each show night. Tucker’s cast was the final cast to perform “Boogie” and “IBroadway” as the original shows that were put onto the ship when it first set sail. They are now revamped and updated to more modern songs and choreography. It was a huge honor for their cast to be the last to perform those versions of the shows as they were unique only to the Celebrity Millennium ship.

The cast also learned three “theme night” performances (“Sizzle,” “Motown” and “RAE”) and performed two of them each week. These 5-10 minute pieces can be seen on other Celebrity ships as well.

Tucker is now taking a few months off to enjoy spending time with family and friends and will be returning to cruise ship life at the end of this year. She enjoyed every second dancing and sailing away on the Celebrity Millennium and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next adventure.
