Farrar ’21, ’23 Wins First Place at 2023 SURE Awards for Individual Graduate Research

Lily Farrar ’21, ’23 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership & Management) was awarded first place at the 2023 Shenandoah University Research Expo (SURE) in the Graduate Proposal/Review Projects – Individual category for her thesis/cumulating research. The title of her project is “The History and Stereotype of the Sexualization of Dancers and How Harassment is Being Handled in Arts Management Today.”

“I am so happy this work is getting recognized because it means so much to me personally,” said Farrar. “I am looking forward to the future!”

Farrar is currently dancing for several Utah-based professional companies, including Shift Dance Company, Altitude Dance Company, Serena Webb Dance Theater and Fem Dance Company. She is also teaching masterclasses in commercial jazz this summer and working as the office and marketing manager at Central Utah Ballet.
