Chen ’19 Receives 2023 Hearts for the Arts Award by Shenandoah Arts Council

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, Associate Dean for Academic Success and Professor of Dance Ting-Yu Chen ’19, Ed.D., was honored with the 2023 Hearts for the Arts Award by the Shenandoah Arts Council at the Museum of Shenandoah Valley (MSV). This recognition acknowledges Chen’s exemplary leadership and impact on the arts in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The award tribute, read by Eve Stanley ’22 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance), celebrated Chen’s significant contributions to the field of dance and dance education, both nationally and internationally, as well as her profound impact on countless aspiring dance students. The arts council board members, in collaboration with the MSV, organized a delightful event that celebrated the transformative power and beauty of art.
