Bertin Joins Conservatory Staff as Senior Box Office Associate

Jess Bertin, B.A., has been hired as a senior box office associate at Shenandoah Conservatory. Bertin will assist Box Office Manager Kaitlynne Dennis in providing leadership and oversight of front-of-house staff during box office hours and ticked performances.

Bertin (also called YJB, they or she) is delighted to join the Conservatory Performs box office staff. With experience in customer service, administration, management and education, Bertin is excited to serve a role in the Shenandoah University community. YJB believes the arts are essential in helping people navigate the complexities of human existence. Through exploration of emotions and diverse perspectives on the stage, we can enhance connection and peace within.

After an international relations degree at Wellesley College fostered an interest in systems and development, Bertin enjoyed a 15-year career in the New York City coffee scene which included managing cafes, training baristas, developing curriculum, controlling quality, and coaching hospitality. Coffee led to yoga, which yielded undeniable physical and mental health benefits. With a desire to share the power of simple, portable, free tools, Bertin has served with Spiro Collective and Integral Yoga teaching, training teachers, administrating retreats and programs, and developing curriculum. YJB regularly teaches holistic Hatha yoga online with Eka Jyothi Yoga Collective and in Winchester, Virginia, with Dharma Yoga Studios.

In addition to selling tickets and sharing chill, YJB enjoys getting lost in the woods, twisting wild woody vines into wreaths, and residing in Winchester with a sweetheart and a cat.
