Center for Leadership in the Public and Nonprofit Sector

Overview

The Center for Leadership in the Public and Nonprofit Sectors will serve as a resource for public and nonprofit organizations in the quad state area that extends from northern Shenandoah Valley to south central Pennsylvania along the I-81 corridor. The center will support the work of area organizations including local school systems, higher education institutions, nonprofit entities, and public sector agencies. Support will take a number of forms including convener, professional development, and technical assistance/research. The center will be housed at the Division of Education & Leadership (DEL).


Mission

The center has a four-pronged mission:

  • Service: Serve as a resource for the region’s public and nonprofit organizations
  • University-Community Relations: Foster ongoing dialogue and collaboration with the region’s public and nonprofit organizations
  • Program Quality: Ensure DEL leadership programs are of high quality and aligned with current and anticipated needs in these sectors
  • Research: Create opportunities for faculty and students to conduct field-based research in these sectors
