Swing Dancing

Winchester Swing Dance is offering free beginner swing dance lessons for Shenandoah University students, faculty and staff. Swing dancing encompasses a variety of styles, including Lindy Hop, Charleston and East Coast Swing. Events are on Sept. 24, Oct. 15 and Nov. 19, from 7-9 p.m. in the Hazel-Pruitt Armory, Collaboratory. Lessons are from 7-7:30 p.m., followed by open dancing from 7:30-9 p.m., with music ranging from big band classics to modern hits. Sneakers or dance shoes are recommended. Seating, water and mints are provided. The event is free for SU students, faculty and staff with a valid SU ID and is open to the public for $10 admission.
