All SU locations will open at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. Classes scheduled to begin before that time will be held virtually. Child Care Center opens at 9 a.m. Faculty/staff are permitted to bring their children to work if necessary. Supervisors/faculty should provide flexibility for those who may have difficulty getting to work/class.

Professional Highlights:

Dr. Harralson is the campus dean for the Shenandoah Pharmacy program based at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax Virginia.  He is a Professor of Pharmacogenomics and Chairman of the Pharmacogenomics Department.

Dr. Harralson is a Diplomat of both the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology and the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (1991-2021).  He is a Consultant and Advisory Committee participant for the US Food and Drug Administration in the areas of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacogenomics.

His research interests are in the area of pharmacogenomics and health disparities and he is a co-investigator and site principle investigator for the NIH National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities African American Cardiovascular Pharmacogenomics Consortium (ACCOuNT).

In October of 2016, Art Harralson received a $9.6 million grant from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. The grant allows him and his team to look into the cardiovascular health in African-Americans.
