Essentially Ellington will be in Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre. Essentially Ellington, a premier educational initiative of Jazz at Lincoln Center, returns to Shenandoah Conservatory with a day of workshops for high school bands. This year’s festival features a public performance by the U.S. Navy Band Commodores, as well as the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra performing the music of the John Kirby Sextet.
