Business School Students Excel at Business Strategy Game

John Sanders, Amanda Loranger, and Matthew Gussiaas earn high rankings in nationwide competition

As part of Assistant Professor of Management Brett Sanner‘s Business Strategy and Policy class, School of Business students John Sanders, Amanda Loranger, and Matthew Gussiaas earned a Global Top 100 ranking for their company’s Business Strategy Game (BSG) performance during the week of April 24, 2017.

Earning a Global Top 100 ranking is a testament to these students’ excellent hard work and skill. The students had an overall score of 108.5, putting them in a tie for fourth place out of 3,816 teams nationwide. Their overall score was also tied for the 82nd best overall score worldwide.Their return on equity (ROE) of 36.7% tied for the 78th best ROE performance of the week worldwide. The BSG is a business strategy simulation designed as a training and team-building tool for college and university business school students. These students compete as teams, managing an athletic footwear company in a global marketplace. During the simulation, students must manage corporate social responsibility and citizenship, sales forecasting, plant capacity, production operations, global distribution, marketing, human resources, and finance and cash flow.

The BSG is played by more than 55,000 students in more than 600 colleges and universities in 50 different countries every year. Visit Global Strategy Game to learn more.
