Travis Gawason ’25 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design & Production – Costume Design) is working as a cutter at Vedette Costumes in Manhattan, where his current projects include costumes for the Broadway production of “Hamilton,” among other professional productions.

Gawason credits the extensive experience he gained at Shenandoah Conservatory with helping prepare him for the transition into the professional costume industry. “During my time at SU, I participated in practical experience on main stage productions, grew my skills through costume-intensive coursework and specifically tailored workshops around my interests, building strong connections with peers, faculty and alumni,” said Gawason.

He also participated in a theatre design and production Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trip to New York City, an experience he says “provided me with firsthand industry exposure and prepared me to confidently take the next steps in my career.”
