Clint Curfman ’24 Debuts with Disco-Pop Anthem
Clint Curfman ’24, a Bachelor of Music in performance graduate, has officially stepped into a new artistic chapter under the stage name Clint Westwood. Inspired by the vibrant pop music of the 1970s, Curfman released his debut single “Put Your Hips Into It!” on August 28.
“Put Your Hips Into It!” is a high-energy anthem that fuses disco and pop. Written to make listeners get up and dance, the track weaves together religious themes and playful physical references to empower audiences to let go of shame and embrace joy. Curfman explains that adopting a stage name has allowed his writing to become “very honest, and I suppose — provocative.”
In 2024, Curfman moved to Richmond, Virginia, immersing himself in writing and recording pop music. His frequent collaborator, Richmond-based producer Danny Aghdam, has been instrumental in shaping his sound. Drawing inspiration from icons like Donna Summer; Barry Manilow; Earth, Wind & Fire; and Madonna, Curfman channels the golden era of disco-pop while adding his own modern twist.
